Every Board & Train program at Zack’s Pack Dog Training is a fully immersive program that begins with a free evaluation. This session can take place at your home, a neutral location, or at our training facility in South Tampa. The purpose is to understand your dog’s current behavior, temperament, and training needs so we can create the most effective plan. For some dogs, this may mean assessing basic obedience skills like sit, down, leash manners, and recall. For others, it may involve identifying nuisance habits such as jumping, counter-surfing, or pulling on the leash. And for dogs with more advanced challenges, the evaluation may focus on reactivity, fear, or aggression. Because dogs don’t always reveal their true behavior right away, I may safely introduce structured scenarios to uncover underlying issues. Identifying these patterns up front allows me to design training that actually sticks. Evaluation is not just a one-time step — it continues throughout the immersive program. As dogs gain confidence and settle in, new aspects of their personality emerge. By consistently re-evaluating, I can ensure your dog gets exactly the support they need, whether it’s obedience training, confidence building, or behavior modification. Your dog comes to live in head trainer Zack’s home, alongside his own dogs, for a unique real-life learning experience that sets them up for long-term success. Program Overview Unlike standard programs, this isn’t just about teaching commands — it’s about transforming habits and building a calm, confident companion. During their stay, your dog will experience: Living in a real home environment (not a kennel) Daily structured training sessions tailored to their needs Supervised play and socialization with other dogs Exposure to real-world distractions like walks, guests, and public outings What’s Included Our Immersive Board & Train program provides: A pre-program evaluation so your dog feels comfortable and we understand their unique needs 2 in-home sessions during the program so you and your family can begin working with your dog before they come home Follow-up support sessions after graduation to ensure the training sticks Customized training tools and clear instructions for continued success Common Behaviors We Address Every dog is different, which is why we customize each program. When you bring home that sweet little pup, they’re constantly testing boundaries and learning what is allowed and what isn’t. I know the first thing many new owners do is read every book and watch countless videos, trying to prepare. While the effort shows how much you care, it often becomes overwhelming — with so many contradictions, it’s confusing to know what’s right for your puppy. That’s where our puppy lessons come in. These sessions are designed to give you clear, hands-on guidance that’s tailored to your dog and your household. We’ll cover everything from: Potty training Crate training Confidence building and early socialization Preparing your pup for obedience and tricks later in life Addressing early habits before they become long-term issues Most importantly — teaching you how to play and bond with your dog in a way that builds trust and respect Puppy training also lays the foundation for the next stage of your dog’s development after 6 months old, when we introduce more advanced obedience and even off-leash training through our Board & Train programs. And as a bonus, any investment you make in puppy training can later be partially discounted toward future training programs, helping you continue your dog’s progress with ease. If you are located within 10 miles of Zack’s Pack Dog Training in South Tampa, sessions can be held in your home. If you’re outside that area, we can meet at a park or at our facility. For clients who require in-home sessions outside of the 10-mile radius, we can provide that for an additional fee. Our goal is to help you and your puppy start off on the right paw — creating a happy, confident companion for years to come.
